Sara Chatwin is a Registered Psychologist and Social commentator and has been operating a busy private practice, MindWorks Psychological Services (www.mindworks.co.nz), in Auckland, for 14 years. Sara is used widely on television. She has hosted and provided expert commentary on a number of tv documentaries, family series and reality series (How Normal Are You; Family Confidential, My House My Castle, DNZ, Flipside,One News, Sky Sport, tv3 news, Target). Additionally she contributes to many radio programmes The Edge; More FM, The Breeze; NewsTalk ZB) and gives comment in print media on things 'psychological', social and para-medical. Sara's regularly contributes to weekly and monthly magazines. (Cleo, New Idea, NZ Fitness, Family Health Diary, Sport Unleashed). As a result of Sara's growing profile, she has become a sought after presenter giving workshops and seminars throughout the country.
Sara has a Masters, First Class Honours Degree in Psychology and Education and Sports Psychology Certificate. As a result of her Masters research and further Doctoral studies, she has had two academic papers published: Maternal Perceptions of the Preterm Infant: Early Child Development and Care, Vol 87; p.69-82 and Hardiness in Families with and without a Child with Down Syndrome: Down Syndrome research and Practice, Vol. 5, Part 2, p. 71-77. Sara also has a certificate in sports psychology,
Sara is an advocate for youth sport in New Zealand. She has worked with many elite sports people across a number of disciplines and has also been fortunate enough to work with international sports stars. Sara enjoys an association with the Peter Snell Institute and provides mentoring and psychological input for athletes who are wanting her support.
